The Virtual Museum Archive
has been relocated to the Istanbul Modern website.
Eczacıbaşı Virtual Museum, which has been on the web since nearly 10 years, has prepared more than 200 virtual exhibitions and various research dossiers which include sections such as “Collections”, “Retrospective Exhibitions”, “Contemporary Exhibitions”, “Conceptual Exhibitions”, “New Generation”, “Sculpture”, “Ceramic”, “Caricature”, “Photography”, “Hoca Ali Rıza”, “Fikret Mualla Saygı”, “Bedri Rahmi – Eren Eyüboğlu”, “Virtual Gallery”, “Artist Studios”, “Artists Pages” and “Forums” and has also organized a grand exhibition including 60 artists for the 2002 Istanbul Art Fair, as well as the first educational exhibition project starting the same year and continuing the following three years at the Istanbul Art Fair.
The number of images displaying the artworks of hundreds of artists within these exhibitions exceeds 11.000.
Eczacıbaşı Virtual Museum, which has reached nearly 500.000 independent internet users and has become a significant source for art students, received First Place in the “Altın Pusula” Public Relations Awards of E-Communication in 2003, organized by the Public Relations Association.
With the foundation of Turkey’s first modern art museum, Istanbul Modern, the Virtual Museum has mainly gained importance as an archive of visual memory. The ideal address for which the Virtual Museum can continue its role has been designated as the Virtual Museum (Archive) section created within the Istanbul Modern website.
In time, sections of the collection exhibitions of Istanbul Modern will take part in the Virtual Museum (Archive).
We thank all of our viewers for their devotion till this day and wish them a life which gains meaning with art.
